Holiday Free School Meal Provision

Holiday provision for learners who are eligible for free school meals was introduced in response to the COVID-19 pandemic as a form of time-limited support to help families. While there have been several temporary continuations of the scheme, Welsh Government have confirmed on 28th June 2023 that despite fully exploring options for funding a further extension, it has not been possible due to funding constraints.  The most recent extension to the end of May half term is the last. There will be no further extension to cover the summer holiday period or beyond.

Sport RCT Family Resources

Good morning,

RCT have recently created a new public Facebook group called Sport RCT Family Resources which we would love for you to join, and share with families at your school.

We want all children to develop a love for physical activity, and we know how much easier it is to get children to want to do something when we make the experience fun! We want children to have a range of enjoyable opportunities to play, move and be active, so they develop the skills and confidence to continue being active for life. However, children need our support to ensure they have plenty of opportunities to be active in supportive, fun environments.

Physical activity resources can support this journey by giving ideas of things to do and activities to play.

Knowing where to look to find physical activity resources is not always straightforward though, so we’ve created the Sport RCT Family Resources group as a central point to find ideas of things to do and activities to play, including videos, resource cards and links to other useful websites.

Family challenges, balance bike activity cards and Sport RCT coaching videos are just some of the things you can currently find on the group, but we will be keeping the group up to date and adding more resources too.

We would love for you to join, and share with families at your school so they have access to these resources too.

To join the group and take a look, just follow the link below.
